U.S. Lacrosse Washington handed out a trio of honors last week and Bellevue assistant coach Chris O'Dougherty picked up the nod as Assistant Coach of the Year after helping the Wolverines to the Division I state title.
A defenseman himself with the Washington Stealth of the NLL, O'Dougherty helped mold a unit that allowed fewer than seven goals per game en route to a 20-2-0 record and also landed a pair of players on the All-American team in Austin Boyd and Sam Leggett.
?Chris O?Dougherty earned the respect of his players and opponents through his hard work, teaching skills, and enthusiasm,? said Dave Low, president of the Washington State Chapter of US Lacrosse.?Louis Lucchesi and Kathi Lucchesi, both of Lake Tapps, picked up coach of the year and person of the year respectively.
