Baltimore County police arrested Almony, 59, of the 3300 block of Old Gamber Road, Thursday after an anonymous person turned in a video from a parking lot on Main Street in Reisterstown that shows the incident, which occurred around 6:45 p.m. April 11, police said.
The video was presented to police on May 12.
Almony allegedly threw the kitten on the ground next to a truck, got into the truck, pulled forward to run the animal over, backed up and ran over it again, pulled forward and backed up to run over it a third time, police said. Police said he then stopped to look at the animal and pulled out of the parking lot.
The kitten appeared to be a stray from a nearby litter.
Almony was charged with animal cruelty and animal mutilation. His trial is set for Sept. 5 in Catonsville. He was released on $10,000 bail.
The animal cruelty charge is a misdemeanor that could result in 90 days imprisonment and a $1,000 fine. The mutilation charge is a felony that carries a three-year jail sentence and $5,000 fine.
